  • 1965 - 1997 - General statewide "pool" service, initially based at Mayne (Brisbane)

  • 1966 - First loco to be fitted with a Station Protection Device (SPD) (early style of AWS)

  • Between 1973 & 1976 - Fitted with auto couplers

  • 21/02/1997 - Stored out of service at Redbank Workshops, Queensland

  • 27/06/1997 - Written off & sold to Tranzrail, New Zealand (closing km. 3,599,403)

  • Mid 1978 - Renumbered to DA90 9 to suit New Zealand Railways TMS system

  • Early 1980 - Shipped from Wellington?? to Port Adelaide for rebuild by Clyde Engineering, Rosewater, South Australia

  • ??/1980 - Arrived Port Adelaide (ship unknown)

  • 01/04/1980 - Rebuild to model GR22AR from G12 complete. Renumbered to DC 4588
