  • 16/12/2011 - Repainted in TasRail grey/yellow livery

  • 16/05/2014 - Officially withdrawn (though still in intermittent service in Burnie)

  • 16/06/2016 - Head replaced from ex Y7 engine at Burnie

  • Early July - Late August 2016 - Re-instated for tippler shunting at Burnie

  • 26/08/2016 - Stored after failing a safety review (e.g. lack of safety rails)

  • 23/05/2021 - Transferred from Burnie to East Tamar Junction on Train No. 1YE behind TR11+TR10

  • 24/06/2021 - Shunted into 'Rotten Row' on the Showgrounds loop with all the other stored EEs

  • 23/08/2021 - Offered to Derwent Valley Railway

  • 18/05/2022 - Transported by road to Derwent Valley Railway

  • 16/07/2022 - Engine restarted after mechanical checks & preparation

  • 23/07/2022 - Returned to operation, shunting DVR's yard

  • 25/09/1991 - Shunting accident - pushed through rear of Launceston roundhouse wall

  • 26/09/1991 - Stored out of service - Launceston

  • 21/01/1994 - Towed from Launceston to Mowbray (storage)

  • 20/12/1994 - Towed Launceston to Hobart (for DVR)

  • 01/1997 - Sold to the DVR

  • 05/03/1997 - Towed Hobart - Boyer (by ZC16)

  • 06/03/1997 - Ran Boyer - New Norfolk (light). First run under its own power since 1991

  • 29/06/1997 - Returned to mainline service

  • 22 - 23/2/2000 - Ran on the longest passenger train since the 1960's (with Y6, X18 & X4) - Hash House Special (D'port - L'ton - Hbt & ret.)

  • Late 2005 - Restricted to yard shunting at New Norfolk (cessation of mainline access)

Y3

  • 07/10/1964 - Officially named "Rowallan"  (after 18th Tas. Governor Lord Rowallan (Thomas Corbett)(served 1959 - 1963))

  • 20/10/1964 - Entered service painted TGR red / yellow

  • 26/08/1970 - Collided with a boulder on the track (stayed upright), 3 miles south of Antill Ponds heading T. # 86 trailling Y5 & Y1

  • 11/1989 - Stored out of service - Launceston

  • 21/01/1994 - Towed from Launceston to Mowbray (storage)

  • 02/1994 - Placed on permanent loan to the Tasmanian Transport Museum, Glenorchy

  • 16/06/1994 - Towed Launceston to Hobart (for TTMS)

  • 03/04/1996 - Ran Hobart - Glenorchy (light)

  • 01/1997 - Sold to the TTMS

  • 01/03/2003 - Returned to mainline service (with Y2) - First run under power since 1989

  • 04/03/2003 - To Don River Railway (on hire)

  • 18/10/2003 - First trip to Primrose (EBR (Melba) Line) with DRR

  • The last heritage locomotive to operate on the TasRail network when it was hired by PNT to shunt wagons at Granton for unloading

  • 15/07/1991 - Ran final vacuum braked cement train (Railton - D'port)

  • 16/07/1991 - Ran final (non-EBR) vacuum braked train (D'port - L'ton) towing Y3+Y2 - then to storage

  • 02/1994 - Placed on permanent loan to the Don River Railway, Devonport

  • 27/06/1994 - Towed L'ton - D'port for delivery to DRR

  • 16/08/1995 - Restored to service by DRR

  • 15/12/1995 - First run back out on the mainline since preservation.
    January 1997 - Sold to the D.R.R.

  • 22/11/1998 - First 'Y' class to run on the E.B.R. to Rosebery (with X4)

  • 18/04/1999 - First 'Y' class to run on the E.B.R. through to Melba (with X4)

Y7 / DV1

  • 27/07/1971 - Trial run to Scottsdale (N.E. Line)

  • 28/08/1971 - Entered service. Trialled 2 prototype new colour schemes before introducing TGR yellow / black

  • 09/04/1981 - Derailed at Trewalla (North East Line) - Cab wrecked

  • 05/1981 - Cab rebuilt

  • 08/1983 -  First of class to be painted AN green / yellow

  • 11/1989 - Stored out of service - Launceston

  • 21/09/1994 - Towed L'ton - Mowbray (storage)

  • 07/1995 - Towed Mowbray - East Tamar Junction (ETJ) (parts recovery)

  • 03/1997 - Towed ETJ - Mowbray (storage)

  • 07/1997 - Towed Mowbray - East Tamar Junction (ETJ) (further parts recovery)

  • 02/ 2000 - Stripping completed in preparation for rebuild to a non-powered driving van

  • 02/2001 - 06/2001 - Rebuilt to a non-powered driving van

  • 07/2001 - Repainted ATN maroon and renumbered DV1

  • 09/2001 - Entered service as DV1

  • 15/02/2011 - Refurbished and repainted into TRC Tasrail yellow / grey

  • 21/09/2018 - On runaway cement train (unmanned) trailing TR11 & 16 THFY wagons between Railton & Devonport

  • Late 07/2018 - Remote control operation on the cement train embargoed by ONRSR

  • 08/10/2018 - Towed from Devonport to storage at East Tamar Junction.  Via T. # 231 (Dpt - WJ) T. # 234 (WJ - ETJ)

  • 07/2021 - Listed for Expressions of Interest - (Sale) 

Y8
